My Favorite Podcasts
If you don’t listen to podcast you can just ignore this, but I thought I’d give you a rundown on 3 of my favorite podcasts.
- Mars Hill Bible Church — Rob Bell — If I only have time for one, this is it!
- NPR: This American Life — Gotta tell ya, I love this program. This American Life is hosted by Ira Glass and is an hour-long show of essays, interviews & stories around a theme. Once in a while, I don’t like the topic, but usually I love it.
- NPR: Car Talk — I hate cars and I especially hate car repair, but I love Click & Clack!
Anyone got any more suggestions?

• Mosaic (Erwin McManus) video podcast
• Relevant podcast- usually results in me laughing aloud in my office
• RadioLab- kind of like This American Life but more focused on the science behind things. It’s very well produced.
Tech/Geeky shows
• Diggnation- podcast from the digg.com guys (warning: can be vulgar at times)
• This Week in Tech (TWIT)- latest tech news each week
• Apple Quick Tip of the Week- This is a short one minute podcast, but they usually have helpful tips about working on a Mac.
I’m a big This American Life fan as well. Have you ever seen the TV show? It’s just as great. Kind of like the cinematography of NOOMA meets This American Life.

Knowing your tastes a bit I would suspect you would like:
“The Meeting House” with Bruxey Cavey -it is an informal church for people who don’t like church based up in Canada.
Elevation Church – Stephen Furtick. I am still a bit undecided on this guy, and his preaching can be a bit fluffy at times, but he is definitely a young man who lives by faith and is inspiring others to live by faith, yielding amazing results in an over-churched city.
My tastes a different than yours.. My favorite preachers:
Mars Hill Church, Seattle. — Mark Driscoll isn’t nearly as controversial when you get him in context.. He is an outstanding teacher, and has a very effective ministry. They have also been doing video biographies of hymnwriters lately at the end of the sermon, and these have been outstanding. They allow you do download High quality video for free. Their Youtube stuff is also good if you don’t have an hour per week. They have posted their hymnwriter videos there under the username mhcseattle
Village Church: Matt Chandler. Great teaching – along the lines of Driscoll, but without the urban edge.
Other Podcasts:
Dave Ramsey podcasts an hour of his show per day for free.
MacOS Ken – 5-10 minutes of Apple flavored new daily.
Macbreak weekly – an hour or so of Apple nerds taking about using Macs and other technology tangents — iPhones, kindle etc.

Whenever I’m stuck listening to Car Talk, I end up enjoying myself. It’s a bonus when I actually learn something about cars.
