More on JAXON!

Posted in Uncategorized by charliedean on February 24th, 2006

Okay, I didn’t know that when I asked my sister to post that she would choose a such a horrific picture of me! Anyway, here’s Jaxon so that you can see him better! He has TONS of hair (as you can see), man hands (really they’re unbelievably big), but otherwise just so TINY!!

Eveyone is doing well — we got home from the hospital last night, and my mom just returned the boys to our house this morning, so we’re all at home now. Jennifer & I are tired — Jaxon is quite confused about the whole day/night thing!

Well — my posting will be sporadic as I’m on vacation all week and have limited access to internet, but when I have the opportunity, I’ll try to post.

Jaxon Philip

Hey this is Shana.. Charlie’s sister..
Charlie called and asked if I would make this post for him since he and Jen are still at the hospital.
This is Jaxon Philip Dean.. he weighed in at a meager 6 lb 15 oz and is 18 1/2 inches long. Definately the smallest of the Dean boys.
Delivery went very quickly and Charlie and Jen are anxious to get home, hopefully Thursday evening. Charlie will post some more pictures in the next few days.

Last Pic of the Family of Four

Posted in Uncategorized by charliedean on February 20th, 2006

Well, Jennifer hasn’t gone into labor yet…if nothing happens, she’s scheduled for induction on Wednesday morning (we have to check-in @ 7am).

Anyway…I thought I’d post the last picture taken of my family of four, because by the end of the week, we’ll be a family of five! This is the four of us on my birthday (2/10). Caleb, for some reason is already in his pajamas!

I’ll try to post pictures of the baby sometime next week!

Dean Family Update

Posted in Uncategorized by charliedean on February 17th, 2006

If you’re our friend, please pray for us:

Here’s an update of all that’s going on.

Wednesday, Jen stayed home from New Community because Caleb was still running a 102 degree fever (for the 3rd day), with coughing and Gavin had just gotten a fever and started couging.

Wednesday night — Caleb woke up with an ear ache…he whimpered and cried throughout the night…dad got about 3 hours of sleep. Jen, on the other hand, was having more intense contractions.

Thursday morning — My mom took Jen went to the Dr. — Dr. says she’s ready to go, but would like her to wait, if at all possible until Wed…that way Jennifer will be in the 38th week. MEANWHILE — I took the boys to the Dr. (we were there two and half hours). They both have bronchiolis, Caleb has an ear infections, and Gavin got his throat swabbed for strep (he doesn’t have it). Then we went to CVS for 45 minutes waiting for the prescription to get filled (Caleb spilled a whole bag of skittles), and then went to Apria to get a nebulizer.

Thursday night — Gavin woke up several times crying in coughing fits.

Friday morning — Caleb seems much better, Gavin seems worse, Jen is still having contractions, and I’ve got a head cold!

All this to say, the Deans are a complete disaster!

New Site!

Posted in Uncategorized by charliedean on February 14th, 2006

I’ve created a new site — that is dedicated expressly to Nexus and specifically to our gatherings. The idea is to have a place that is dedicated to our most recent series. It gives the speaker a place to “go deeper” or include stuff that was left out. It also serves as a place where (I hope) people can interact with those ideas and add their own perspectives!

If you’re a part of Nexus, I hope you check it out! (just click on the logo)

In case you haven’t checked this out, my seminary buddy (and one of my dearest friends) sent this link in one of my comments –

Here’s the link.

It’s a Denver Post article about a guy we knew in Seminary. He and his wife lost their first child shortly after he was born. This is an article about his journey and how it relates to his chaplaincy.
